I think we all have a hero, whether it’s someone in your family or someone famous. My definition of a hero is someone you can look up to and someone you can trust. In order to be a hero, you have to be responsible and honest. The person I chose as my hero is Emmitt Smith. I chose him because he is the all-time rusher in the NFL that I know of. He beat Walter Payton's record and became number one. Also, he is a good person for leading the Cowboys to lots of Super Bowls. The Cowboys took the Bills back to school for two consecutive Super Bowls. For these reasons, I chose Emmitt Smith.

Emmitt Smith was born on May 15, 1969. He weighed in at 6lbz 5oz. He was born in Pensacola, Florida. He went to high school in Florida and played football for the Florida Gators. After college he was picked by the Cowboys in the first round pick.

After his contract with the Cardinals, Emmitt signed a 1 day contract with the Cowboys for no money. He did it so he could retire as a Cowboy. On February 3rd, 2005 at a press conference in Jacksonville, Florida, three days before Super Bowl XXXIX, he announced his retirement, after 15 seasons in the NFL.

When Emmitt Smith played football for the Cowboys he scored thousands of running yards. He still plays today just for fun. His number when he played pro was 22. I think that his number will forever remembered in the Hall of Fame and in the Cowboys' Stadium. I hope he and his family have a great rest of their lives and I thank him for being my hero.

I really like Emmitt Smith and I hope that Emmitt Smith inspires many more people to come. I still think that Emmitt Smith was the greatest football running back (half-back) that ever played. I hope his name never comes down from the Hall of Fame in Cowboy Stadium. That way I can show my kids his number and why he was so awesome. I hope there are more halfbacks in the United States that can play for the Cowboys and help lead them to more great days and Super Bowls.
