My hero is Ryan Smyth. He is my hero because he has inspired me to do my best in life because he was voted most popular player in 2003/04. He won the December and February Molson Cup segments in 2004/05. He represented Canada for the 9th and 10th time of his career, and he was a member of Team Canada at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and the 2005 World Champions.
Mr. Smyth was born on February 21, 1976 in Banff, Alberta. The first NHL Team he played with was the Edmonton Oilers in 1994, and he still plays for them now. When I was learning to skate, he inspired me to keep going and not to give up.
Ryan Smyth's first NHL game was on January 22, 1995 in Los Angeles, California, and his first NHL goal was on November 24, 1995 in Calgary, Alberta. Ryan's first NHL assist was on December 5, 1995 in Vancouver, B.C. His first NHL penalty was on November 24, 1995 in Tampa Bay, Florida. Ryan Smyth's most goals in one game was 3 goals on October 8, 1996 in Toronto, Ontario.
My hero's most assists in one game is six times on February 21, 2004 in Vancouver, B.C. Ryan's longest assist scoring streak was from March 14 to 26, 1997 in Anaheim, California, and his longest point scoring streak from March 13 to 28, 2001 (6-8-14).
Ryan Smyth has had four hat tricks in his career, so I think he is a very successful hockey player as you know from what you just read. Mr. Smyth is probably the most inspiring player in the NHL and all hockey, and that is why Ryan Smyth in my hero and I think he will be for a long time.
