His teachings were noble and were full of wisdom. His work carried on hundreds of years after his death. Most of his teachings are still used today.

His most well known teachings are the Socratic method and Socratic irony. He influenced western philosophy and his students.

This type of teaching makes the student interact with the question and actually think about it. Socrates didn't want his students to copy off his teachings, he wanted them to learn from it. This method tests logic and facts intended to help people discover their beliefs.

Their names are Plato and Xenophon. Most of Socrates teachings were unwritten but Plato's dialogues explained his teachings the best. Xenophon is known for recording the history of the late 5th and 4th century BC.
