Steve Young

Hero's are people you look up to. Hero's represent different things to different people. Hero's represent a symbol of encouragement, bravery, and accomplishing your goals. These types of people don't give up on their goals not even when it seems nearly impossible. Hero's help people when they are in the time of need. I think my hero represents all of these qualities and beyond.

That's Why my hero is Steve Young. Steve Young was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 11, 1961. He is the great great great grandchild of Brigham young. His dad Legrande Young Also played football, he played fullback for Brigham Young University in the 1950's. Steve Young is the oldest of five children So he grew up playing with his brothers and made the competition tough. Steve graduated From Brigham Young University with a degree in law, so he had something to fall back on, incase something ever happened to him on the field.

Steve Young was the drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1984 in the first round; he was first picked over all. He was re-signed by the 49ers as a free agent on May 3, 1991,and it all went downhill from there. He had a big shoe to fill once Joe Montana retired. He did bring a lot of excitement on the field. People loved Steve because of all that he brought to the game. So he got adjusted fast. Steve was first in touchdown passes in 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1998 and he will be recognized for that. Steve biggest moment of glory was probably when he went to the super bowl to take in the San Diego Chargers, where they were victorious 49-28.

I consider Steve Young one of my hero's because of what he brought to the game. I got into the game when I was about eight. One time my uncle took me to a niner falcoln game an after the game my uncle took me o go meet him. I am sure that was one of the greatest moments of life. I got hooked on the game; it was just very exciting to watch it I couldn't wait to see Steve play. It came back harder when he had to retire, or it was his choice but I think he made a good one. He was getting hurt too much; I guess three concussions were enough to force him out of the game.

So I think it is very important to have good role models because of what they bring to people's life. When you know you are doing something that’s not right you can think of what your hero would do in that situation. I think people have different definitions of hero's and they have their own reasons of why they are their hero's, but in the end it all comes down in the way you want it too. So I think my hero is Steve Young
