Martin Strel

My hero is Martin Strel. He was born in Mokronog, Slovenia. He is a professional marathon swimmer. In 1997 he set up a sport club, “Martin’s club”, but now he is a professional swimmer. He is the first Slovene to be mentioned three times in Guinness, the Book of World Records. His greatest achievements are: -The Danube river (June 25-> August 23, 200) -The Mississippi river (July 4-> September 9, 2002) -The Yangtze river (June 10-> July 30, 2004) He is very brave. The project, Martin Strel vs. the Amazon river, will start on the 1st of February, 2007. He plans to swim 5430 kilometres, the longest river yet to be swum. With this, he will surpass the last record that is possible in professional swimming.
