Thomas Edison

Thomas Edison is an American inventor, who contributed to more than 1000 inventions. I believe he is a hero because he faced a lot of challenges; he became deaf at the age of 12 due to scarlet fever, so he could not continue at regular schools and his teacher called him dumb. After that he was home-schooled and taught by his mom; he loved science and experimentation - meanwhile, he worked selling newspapers to afford to buy materials for his experiments. He grew up and continued experimenting until he succeeded with many inventions; the most important one is the invention of the light bulb which lightened the world. He is inspiring for me to face my challenges and keep trying to achieve my dreams.
