Higuchi Ichiyo was a poet and novelist from Japan.
Higuchi Ichiyo, was a poet and novelist from Japan and is considered one of the most influential and important woman writer of the Meiji era. Her characteristic stories are regarded as groundbreaking masterpieces. Though, her achievements weren't made only through sheer will or hard work, she was a fearless, independent female. Despite many circumstances, setbacks, and tragedy, she found a way to overcome them. She achieved more in her life than any man of her period.
