Yannich Noah in 1986 when he won Roland-Garroshttps://www.20minutes.fr/sport/1167807-20130604-20130604-roland-garros-retenez-vous-victoire-yannick-noah-1983The athlete who I admire most is Yannich Noah. He is 58 years old and was a French tennis champion. He is not a sportsman of my generation (I'm 16 years old...), but I think he has a great aura. Yannich Noah won 23 big tournaments between 1975 and 1997. He is still today the only French man to be the title holder of a Grand Slam tournament. Among these big tournaments, he won Roland-Garros. There are also the US Open, Australia's Open and Wimbledon. More, this professional athlete reached a high level: he was the 3rd best player in the world in 1986. He trained the French team for the Davis Cup (men) and the Fed Cup (women), and together, they defeated their opponent in 1991, 1996 and 2017 for the men and in 1997 for the women. After some changes of trainers, the French team won thanks to him in 2017. It's recent, so this event struck me. I admire a lot of qualities in him. I play tennis too, so I understand the state of mind needed to win a match. In 1986, when he won Roland-Garros, he knew that he wasn't the best player of the world. But, thanks to his resistance and to his strength, he won, and this is beautiful. When he trained the French team, he transmitted his competitor's spirit and hope. He showed that all is possible with work, passion, motivation and perseverance.
