Zoran Grosièar

by Jernej from Domžale

Hi everybody. My name is Jernej and I am going to introduce you to a person who belongs on this Web site. This person is someone in my family who means very much to me. He is my uncle Zoran Grosièar and now he is a star here. I appreciate him as my uncle and like him as a person.

He lives in Trbovlje, Slovenia. He is a baker and has to work almost all the time due to the shift-work. That is a real problem because his biorhythm changes constantly. This may be a reason why he is still a bachelor. Well, last year he met a woman and now they are very good friends. I really enjoy watching them together. They are very happy and relaxed. Despite the fact that he is in his early fifties, he is still full of energy and looks like a forty-year-old man.

I have listened to many stories about my past, especially when I was just a baby. I know that my uncle loves me very much and he helped my parents raise me. One story was when he babysat me when I was a six month old baby. Despite the fact that I do not remember those moments, I feel something around him, like we have known each other for a century. I am sure that he would not hurt me. He is also very honest and realistic. As you can see from the picture, he has a birthmark on his right cheek, but it does not bother him and people in his company have gotten used to it.

Although he works in a low paying job, he has achieved many goals. He built a weekend, bought a great car and now lives in a flat. He grew up in a mining town where almost all of his schoolmates “went in the hole." Some of them died because of the accidents down there, but lots of them became drunkards and homeless persons. He managed to get away from drink and go to school. This is also one of my main reasons for choosing him as my hero.

His weakness is maybe his education, but I still like him just the way he is and I am proud of him. I hope we will have many more happy moments together. He is my hero.
