These one minute films were made students at Ascot Avenue Elementary, under the guidance of MY HERO Media Arts Educator Frank Guttler and USC student Isabella Escalona.
Thanks to all of the teachers and students who participated in this project and to Ascot's Principal Dr. Gustavo Ortiz-Escalante for this opportunity. The MY HERO Media Arts Program launched in 2023 with a grant from the Max Factor Family Foundation - is now supported with funds from LAUSD.

The MY HERO Project has completed an eight-week pilot on-site outreach Media Arts Mentor program with Ascot Avenue Elementary school, South Central Los Angeles.
Ascot Avenue Elementary Media Screening
My Hero held an eight-week program at Ascot Avenue Elementary in Spring 2023 to teach students how to create hero-themed video projects. In this clip, the principal and vice principal of Ascot speak about the importance of this program.
