If you have seen High School Musical and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, then you will know the blonde haired actress who is seen on TV sets world wide. She was recently named one the Teen People’s 25 Hottest Stars Under 25. Her name is Ashley Tisdale, and she is my hero. A lot of people have asked me why I think of her as a hero. They all think that heroes are rescuers and police men. I tell them that she is my hero because she has worked really hard to achieve her dreams.

Ashley Michelle Tisdale was born in West Deal, New Jersey on July 2, 1985 to Lisa Morris and Mile Tisdale. She is the younger of the two Tisdale daughters, her sister Jennifer being the oldest. When she was very young, Ashley knew that she wanted a career in singing; her life long dream was to put out a CD. Her dreams started to become a reality at the age of 3, when her manager discovered her in the local mall. Ashley was thrilled knowing that her dreams were about to start. Ever since that day at the mall Ashley has been in over 100 commercials and performing groups. She began acting, appearing in stage productions of Gypsy: A Musical Fable and The Sound of Music at the Jewish Community Center of Monmouth County. She also appeared in the following television shows: Seventh Heaven, Smart Guy, Boston Public, and Once and Again. Ashley even sang in Les Miserables as Young Cossette and traveled to 40 different cities, and sang in the popular musical Annie. Her music career got larger when she sang at the White House at the age of 12.

Ashley and her family had to move to Valencia, California where she attended high school and resumed her singing/acting career. Her high school even voted her ‘Most likely to become an Actress in her senior year book. After Ashley graduated, she started her acting career again and was a recurring role in the following shows: The George Lopez Show, Still Standing, The Hughleys, and she had a guest role in the following shows: Grounded for Life, Strong Medicine, Malcolm in the Middle, Charmed, Hannah Montana, Saturday Night Live, and Kim Possible.

Everyone should now know Ashley Tisdale as Madeline ‘Maddie’ Fitzpatrick on the popular Disney Channels series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. She plays a candy counter girl and sometimes a baby sitter for the two mischievous twin boys, Zack and Cody, who are played by Dylan and Cole Sprouse. In two episodes she sang songs and let every viewer know that she had what it took to become a singer. That was proven when the hit movie High School Musical came out. Ashley played the devious Sharpay Evans, twin sister to Ryan Evans, played by Lucas Grabeel. That movie was the most popular movie on Disney Channel in years. Ever since that became a hit Ashley has been getting many offers from record labels until she signed up with Warner Bros.

After many months of writing, recording, and hard work, Ashley came out with her first album Headstrong which sold 23,000 copies in Brazil but sold over 500,000 copies world wide. Blender Magazine also has something positive to say about her album, “Tisdale has a gift. Not an angelic voice or a dazzling personality, but an even rarer commodity: millions of “pre-sold” preteens eager to buy her album.” says the editor of the magazine. But what older fans love the most about her is that she is one of the child stars that never did drugs or drank. "My mom really instilled confidence in me, so I'm not somebody who'd be under peer pressure" says Tisdale. On Ashley’s album, she co-wrote three of the songs herself and said that the songs came from stories from her life. Unlike any other female artist, Ashley had two songs get on the top 500 favorite songs (both duets with Lucas Grabeel) and had an album that reached #5 on top 200 billboards. Ever since this day Ashley has been thinking of making another album.

After the success of her album, she along with Vanessa Hudgens, Drew Seeley, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, and Corbin Bleu traveled around the country to 40 cities for High School Musical: The Concert. Every show was sold out and had over 15,000 people attending. Ashley performed her three hit singles He Said, She Said, Be Good to Me, and Headstrong on the tour. Vanessa Hudgens and Corbin Bleu followed her lead and sang three songs from their albums as well. Ashley now resides in Los Angeles, California near her family, Zac Efron, and Vanessa Hudgens. She is currently filming High School 2: Sing it all or Nothing with the original cast in Salt Lake City, Utah. The album to it is planned to come out two weeks before the movie. The movie is supposed to come out August 17th.

Ashley Tisdale is my hero because she worked so hard to get to where she is today. She made her dream of becoming a singer come true and that shows me be being headstrong you can make your own dreams come true. Granted I have many, but I know I will live one of them someday and Ashley helped me see that. A lot of people see her as a snob and stuck up. But she’s loyal to her fans. The song So Much for You, on her album was dedicated to us. She isn’t caught up with the wealth, and she brings entertainment to your TV set very night. That’s what I think are good qualities in a hero, and Ashley has all of that. Ashley Michelle Tisdale is my hero. She is headstrong and down to earth. If anyone can prove that by working hard your dreams will come true, it’s her.
