Albert Einstein is one of the most famous scientists in history; he is also one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century. His theories have changed the way the world sees the universe and he has changed the way we all see physics. His revolutionary theory, “The Special Theory of Relativity,” changed the way everyone viewed the entire universe. I chose Einstein because He was a man who changed modern science as we know it. He was also a pacifist and started a fund to help orphaned Jews during World War II; that was one of the reasons why he fled Germany. The other reason was that he was Jewish, himself.

Albert Einstein was born in Munich, Germany in 1879. At the age of sixteen his family left Germany but he had to stay because his parents wanted him to get his diploma. While in Germany he stayed at a boarding house. After he had received his diploma, he joined his family in Switzerland and later became a Swiss citizen. There he graduated from the Swiss Institute of Technology. While at the institute, he met his soon-to-be wife, Mileva. From there, he got his first job working at a Swiss patent office.

While working at the patent office, Einstein published his first paper on “The Special Theory of Relativity”. Soon after, scientists around the world noticed his work and some were skeptic of it. After he received his Doctorate he published his paper on the photo electric effect. The paper on “The Photo Electric Effect” is the first that made him famous. He soon discovered the most world-renownnd equation: E=MC2 “Energy Equals Mass Times the constant Squared,” which helped in the creation of the atomic bomb.

During his life, Einstein achieved more than any other scientist in history. Einstein came up with equations that changed science and opened up a new world. Einstein is a role model because he surpassed the odds: growing up in Germany during Zionism and being Jewish during the time of Hitler, he still became a world-renowned scientist. His theories opened up new doors in science.

In the end, Einstein lived a very fulfilling life. If it were not for him we would have never imagined nuclear power or the atomic bomb. Because of him we see the universe in a new way. Einstein changed the way we live our lives today, and many scientists try to follow in his foot steps, but today physicists are still trying to answer the question that Einstein started working on before he died: “The equation that sums up the universe”. We may never know the answer.
