Antoine de Saint-Exupery (1900/6/29~1944/7/31)is known as the famous French writer, poet, aristocrat, journalist, and pioneering aviator. He was born in an aristocratic Catholic family. His father died of a stroke in Lyon's La Fouxtrain station. He had three sisters and a younger brother. His brother died of rheumatic fever at the age of 15. After that, he became the only man in his family. He suffered from his brother's death and the First World War and he started to create sarcastic comics about Prussian soldiers and began to write poems.

His novella-The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) is one of the most translated books. The Little Prince is about a pilot stranded in the desert wo meets a young prince fallen to Earth from a tiny asteroid. The main characters of this book are the Little Prince, Pilot, Rose and Fox. One of the famous lines from this book is "You become responsible forever for what you've tamed. You're responsible for your rose." said the fox. This quote is often used in stories. The Little Prince is Lily and Me (Crystal)'s favorite story. I first read this book last year. It's sad but pure words touched me. At the last part of the story, it said, "And now six years have already gone by . . . I have never yet told this story. The companions who met me on my return were well content to see me alive. I was sad, but I told them: "I am tired."]. It brought me tears because how innocent the little prince is.

Saint-Exupery died in a flight accident in 1944. His body was not found. After the publishing of "The Petit Prince", there were lots of discussions about Saint-Exupery's death, too. For example, a lot of people thought that the rose can refer to his wife, Consuelo de Saint Exupery. The fox can be taken as Sylvia Hamilton, and the little prince is like Saint-Exupery himself. Many years have passed, details of this story are still often discussed.

Saint-Exupery is our hero because he writes good stories. He made a lot of people recall their childhood with his stories. Just like what he wrote in "The Little Prince" :All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it. I hope when I grow up, I can write touching stories that bring people happiness just like Saint-Exupery.
