Abraham Lincoln

by Andrei from Anaheim

If I were to pick my hero, it would be Abraham Lincoln no doubt about it. I mean there are lots of reasons to like him. Here's a couple. The reason is that he was the 16th president of the United States and sixteenth is the best number that I would chose, the cool fact that he was the first president that had a beard, and the reason that he fought for our rights and that he took a stand.

Abraham Lincoln was born in Feb.12, 1809 in a small village named Hodgenville. His family members were his dad mom and his sister. His dad's name was Thomas Lincoln and his mom's name was Nancy Lincoln and his sister's name was Sarah Lincoln. In March 9, 1832 Abraham runs for candidate and he had won!

The hardest point of his life was probably when our nation was splitting apart. Abraham stopped that from happening he probably said to himself that he was not going to let this happen. What if the nation did split where we would be today it probably would have gotten worse and the next thing you know we would be having war against each other or other countries. It wouldn't be right without Abraham. He did lots of things to help this country and we should thank him for that, we should call him a solder, a real man. The accomplishment that he made was keeping us together as a nation and as a state. Later on in April 15, 1865 Abraham was assassinated.

The reason that I admire Abraham is because I think that he was the best president that I would choose from the second best would be J.F.K. either way they both are pretty cool. The lesson that I learned is that I can change the world by doing something simple like everybody else can like Abraham Lincoln. You can do more than what you think you can do.
