Imagine you were a shop owner and somebody overpaid you, would you travel miles to give it back? That’s what exactly what Abraham Lincoln did. Abraham Lincoln was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky on February 12th 1809. He was born in a small log cabin. He was the 16th president of the United States. Abraham Lincoln is my hero because he was honest, a hard worker, and a great helper.

Abraham Lincoln is my hero because he is very honest. He was honest enough to be called Honest Abe. He once walked 6 miles to return 6 cents to a woman who accidentally paid more, when he realized she was short changed by a few pennies he closed the shop and gave back the change.

Abraham Lincoln was a helper as well. Starting when he was young, he helped his dad and his family. He helped to end slavery. Even though it was hard he didn’t give up and he ended slavery. He ended slavery by the Emancipation Proclamation. When he was a lawyer he helped a lot of people. Once he helped a woman to win a case, but she was very poor, so Abraham Lincoln refused to get paid. Abraham Lincoln refused to get paid often if the person was poor. And when Abraham Lincoln caught a Indian spy, people told him to kill the spy but Abraham Lincoln didn’t and let the spy to walk away.

Abraham Lincoln was known as a hard worker too. When he was young he worked very hard to support his family. When he was a lawyer he worked very hard and studied hard to win his cases. And before he was a lawyer he worked very hard to become one. His first job was a wood chopper and when he got older he owned a shop and he studied hard and became a lawyer than a president. Starting from a wood chopper he worked very hard and now he is known as a hero.

Things that Abraham Lincoln did proved that he was honest, hard working, and helpful. Abraham Lincoln is my hero because I want to be like him. I hope to become like Abraham Lincoln and I will be known as honest Hyun.
