I first discovered Angela Missoni online when I was looking at fashion blogs. I was really fascinated by her and chose her as my personal career hero because she works in the fashion industry as a designer. I am absolutely in love with fashion and know that I want to be very involved in it for my career. I was also fascinated by her because I discovered she helps an organization for people with AIDS in Africa. I thought it was really interesting that she was working in the fashion industry while helping out others in another country. I feel like it's rare to come across a well-known person like her doing so much for others.

A fashion designer does a lot of sketching, works with many different materials, attends many fashion shows, conducts many fittings, and studies the current popular fashions. Being a fashion designer allows you to communicate with many people, and travel all over the world. According to salary.com the average salary for a fashion designer is $47,082 a year. You can make even more money if you have more experience. To be a successful fashion designer you have to find what appeals to your audience, while still being creative. There is a lot of competition in the fashion industry, but it would be a great experience and it allows you to be creative.

Angela Missoni grew up constantly around the fashion industry. According to Vogue, "She is the third child of Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, the co-founders of the Italian brand famous for its kaleidoscope and zigzag knits." Her parents, Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, were well known for their Italian Brand. The unique patterns on their knits are what made the brand so famous. Missoni worked in the family business for twenty years with her two brothers. Later on in life, Missoni started her own label. Eventually she took over from her mother's job as creative director of the family brand. Angela's latest collection was revealed to many on March of 2014. Today Angela Missoni continues to make an impact on fashion.

Angela Missoni also makes a big impact on the lives of others. According to Style Bistro, "Angela Missoni is another charitable designer passionate about fighting AIDS in Africa." Missoni is passionate about giving hope to kids and fighting AIDS in Africa. Angela helps with the organization, Orphan Aid Africa. "I think it's important that everyone who is in the position to help, including those in the Fashion industry, should actively contribute to solving the problems of the world we live in, in whatever way they can.", says Angela Missoni. I think it is really important to help the less fortunate if you are in the position to do so. If you are blessed enough to be so successful in life, you should be willing to share some of that with others, because it gives them life and hope. This is one of the many reasons I respect and admire Angela Missoni. She appreciates what she has and gives back to others.

In order to live a life filled with exciting experiences and passion, similar to Missoni's, I will take every opportunity that comes my way to help me reach my goals. In high school I will continue to take classes that will benefit me and my interests. I have currently joined the Fashion Club at Capistrano Valley High School and I would like to take photography. I would also be open to any other classes that would put me farther ahead in my desired career. In college I would like to major in business, because I feel like that would be good to have under my belt when working in the fashion industry. My lifetime goal is to always be happy. I always want to have a passion for something in life, something I can work towards. I would also like to make a difference in the world. I feel that if you are not doing anything to contribute to society, or make our world a little better, then you're not doing your job. Angela Missoni is my hero because she gets to live her dream every day by surrounding herself with fashion, and making a difference in the world.
