Arnold Schwarzenegger

by Nick from Saddle River

Arnold Schwarzenegger is my hero because he is brave, a role model, and he is independent. First lets start on a little background on Arnold. Arnold Schwarzenegger was born on July 30, 1947 in a village called Thal in Austria. When Arnold was born he had a mother, father, and an older brother. His father's name is Gustav and he was an alcoholic police chief. Arnold used to fear his father because he beat him and eventually intimidated Arnold because of that. His father used to put him and his brother in a pit to fight for his father's entertainment. At the time Arnold was less athletic than his brother. His father died in 1972 and his brother died in a car crash in 1971. He refused to go to either of their funerals because of what they did to him. At the age 14 Arnold started one of his most famous hobbies, bodybuilding. To get away from his past he turned to moves, specifically Reg Parker. Reg Parker was a bodybuilder and was a star in B- Level Hercules movies. Reg motivated Arnold to move to America where he met Joe Wider. Joe Wider was a sponsor for contestants for Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympian. Wider would eventually help Arnold win Mr. Universe five times and Mr. Olympian six times. Now that you know a little bit of history on Arnold, lets see why I chose him to be my hero.

Arnold is a brave man. He came to America on his own at a young age to follow his dream to become an actor, bodybuilder, and become wealthy. Another example of Arnold being brave is Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympian. That makes Arnold brave because had to compete to become Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympian even though he had some help from Joe Wider he still had to go up against all of the other contestants. Another example of Arnold being brave is that he is not afraid to fail. He is wiling to do anything even no mater how high the risk is to fail. Arnold competing for Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympian is a great example of him not being afraid to fail because he had a great chance of losing against his competitors. That's why I think he is brave and now you know too.

Arnold is a role model because in 2003 Arnold Schwarzenegger became the 38th governor of California. After his term ended he ran again for governor and was reelected in 2006. Another example of him being a great role model is that when he came to America he had nothing and now he is a very wealthy movie star, former governor, and former bodybuilder. As a side note he became very wealthy within 9 years after he came to America with nothing so it only took him 9 years to go from nothing to everything. He became a very well known actor because he followed his dreams to become a to become one. Arnold is a role model to me and always will be.

When Arnold was a young boy, before he came to America he basically had to take care of himself because he came from a broken family. Even though Arnold got some help to the top, he is still very independent. At the moment Arnold Schwarzenegger is 65 years old and still doesn't have a stunt double. In movies that involved action, which is mostly all of his movies, Arnold is his own stunt double. Before he became a movie star he traveled to America all alone. A great example to me personally of Arnold being independent is that he basically built his own career alone but still had some help from others. Arnold is my hero because of all the reasons that I have given to you in this report.

The effect that Arnold has on me is several things. I look up to him because he is amazing but the main reason why I look up to him is he started with nothing and now has everything and he basically made his career all by himself. He inspires me to do thing that I normally wouldn't want to do. For example, he inspired me to go to acting class once weeks so that one day I might be like him. The last effect that he has on me that I would like to discuss is that I respect him because he is a powerful man and a nice man. Now you know why Arnold Schwarzenegger is my hero.
