Alexandra Scott

by Ashleigh from Lodi

Alex Scott was born on January 18, 1996 in Manchester, Connecticut. Shortly after her first birthday, she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer. The doctors doubted she was ever going to be able to walk if she was cured.

Luckily when she was two, she could crawl and walk with leg braces on.

Unfortunately, her tumors started growing. She received a stem cell transplant. She said to her mom, "When I get out of the hospital I want to have a lemonade stand." She said she wanted to give the money to the doctors to help find a cure to childhood cancer. When she got out later that year, she did open a lemonade stand and raised $2000.

News spread about Alex's lemonade stand. People were moved by her story and began their lemonade stand.

Sadly, Alex died at the age of 8. She had raised $1,000,000 in charity money!
