Asma Wajid

by Yusrah from Nashville

Never give up or Quit!

In 2nd grade when I was 9 years old my teacher was Ms. Wajid she was my personal superhero! Ms. Wajid taught me, she spent her afternoons helping me. She inspired me to be a respectful student, to always try and to never give up or to give in. She said that all of her students were her family. I believe Ms. Wajid could teach anyone and if she had a specific power it will be to give knowledge to everybody.

Whenever I was struggling with a specific subject she would get a group of children and pour her knowledge over us and make sure that we understood and we comprehended. Ms. Wajid believed that we could all change the world and make it into a better place for our future children and I believed that I could change it as well!

The first time I got my report card I was super pleased and excited to show it to my parents. Even my parents knew that Ms. Wajid was a super hero because last year I wasn't as bright and intelligent as now in 2nd grade.

Every time anybody in our class got an question correct she would reward us with either some sweets or a tiger buck where we could spend at the main office. Cool, right? And any special holiday we would celebrate and bring some food. And when everybody made a really good grade on the CR CT test we went on a field trip to the Fox Theater and watch an amazing play.

At the ending of the year I was on the principal's list. My parents were very proud and happy that they personally thanked Ms. Wajid in my class. Ms. Wajid was very proud and pleased and also sad because all the good times we had were about be in her memories and we had to go on, but I always would visit her.
