Firstly, I can’t say that Andy is my hero. I prefer any other word. Maybe, Andy Warhol is my ideal or example for imitation.

Andy Warhol is the legend of pop art and modern art, famous American artist. He was born on November 4th, 1928 in Pittsburgh and died on February 22nd, 1987. When he was young his friends, classmates, teachers considered that he was strange. In 1949 he moved to New York. And there he became a famous artist. Firstly, he worked in some magazines as an illustrator and in advertising business.

The secret of Andy’s fame is his eccentric way of painting. Interesting, but a bit strange, objects of his works like famous banks of Coca-Cola and canned food. Radical art critics told him that his works opened platitude and emptiness of the western culture of mass consumption. Then, he made works of famous stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Mick Jagger and Mao Zedong.

I think that he is a really important person in Modern art. He was a really creative artist. So, isn’t he a great example for imitation? I quite like his works, his life position and way of thinking. Maybe, because I really enjoy unusual people. Well, as for me, Andy Warhol is one of the best modern artists.
