My hero is Andrei Arshavin, a brilliant football player. As I am fond of football I really admire him. He is famous throughout the world.

Arshavin was born in St. Petersburg on 28th May, 1981. Arshavin was keen on football in his childhood. His father was a good footballer and he wanted his son to become a professional footballer. Andrei was good at chess too but he chose football as his profession. Andrei was strong, sporty and healthy. At seven he played in the football club "Smena", the famous football club in St. Petersburg. Sergei Gordeev trained him and at sixteen Andrei joined "Zenit", the most famous football club in Russia. I think Arshavin was interested in foreign football, especially the Spanish club "Barcelona" and he dreamt of joining that club. So he worked hard, took part in football matches and became famous.

The Russian football union considered Arshavin the best forward so he became the captain of "Zenit" and then the captain of the Russian team. Once the sportsman injured his legs. It was difficult for him not only to play football but even to walk but he never gave up so I consider him to be a hero.

Arshavin is energetic, he has a strong willpower, he is hardworking and he always tries to win. Thanks to his character traits Andrei was invited to join the English club, "Arsenal" in 2009. Andrei is very active so he helps his native football club "Smena." He has his own line of clothes, "I love football" and he plays a big role in the lives of young people.

Arshavin has a big influence on me. I also try to be strong, brave, hardworking and fit. He is the example of a footballer for me and I want to be as skillful as Andrei Arshavin.
