"Ana Gabriela is a track and field athlete that while still quite young, started practicing a lot, in order to get to where she is today; the best Mexican runner and one of the best around the world in the 400 meters." Guevara is one of the most popular women athletes in Mexico after winning the 400 meter gold medal at the 2003 World Championships, in Paris, and the Olympic silver medal in Athens in 2004. Besides that, she managed to elevate women from a lower position in Mexican society, and now she is compared to the great sport stars of the country. I think she is one of the heroes from Mexico because her dream of always representing Mexico came true and she took the fight for women's rights. She has inspired my life because she did her best to be one the first women in the world who won a lot of races including a gold medal. She is one of the heroes from Mexico and Mexico is inspired by her.

Ana Gabriela Guevara was born March 4, 1977, in Nogales, Sonora state, Mexico. One of her earliest interests was playing sports like basketball, but when the time past she knew that show wanted run to kilometers and be at the top of her spot by being the best. This started when she chose to run in school. At this moment, she understood that she could run and represent Mexico in world events One of her goals was to become the best runner. She has said, "I have to force myself to be at the top and I have worked very hard". www.aiaaf.org That shows how she forced herself to become one of the most popular women in Mexico and also showed what she was really like in her life.

One of her missions was to represent Mexico at the Olympics and other international track events. "With all my winnings and records, Mexico took first place in several races". www.aiaaf.org That shows how her talent for running is special to her country and how Mexico feels when she represents the country. She does her best to come in first place. One of the many recognitions and awards for Ana Gabriela came when she won the gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games in Canada. "Many Mexicans were shocked by the strength and determination of this woman; her strong legs".

In 2007, for the third consecutive time, she won the gold medal in the 400 m at the Pan American Games. About a month later, at the age of 30 Guevara participated in her fourth World Championships in Athletics in Osaka. After this last championship, she told Mexico that she retired. "My retirement from sport in Mexico is now definitive, I contemplated the possibility of participating independently at the Olympic Games but my dream was to participate for my country". That shows how she feels if she ends her career, she knows she has represented Mexico and that her people will continue because she has been the champion for many years.
