Alex

My hero is a girl who died at the age of 8, due to neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer. At age four, Alex decided that she wanted to have a lemonade stand in order to raise money for doctors to find a cure for cancer. Through her determination, she raised $2,000 through her first lemonade stand. While she was fighting her own battle against cancer, she pushed through, and continued to hold stands yearly in order to help benefit other sick children. Alex’s determination and hard work inspired people all over the world to start lemonade stands to help benefit others. Although Alex passed away in August of 2004, her legacy continues on through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
