A hero is not always someone famous or well known. A hero can be many different things; an actress/actor, a cartoon character, a friend, etc. but to me a hero is someone who changes your life for the better. A person who is honest, intelligent, strong -both physically and emotionally, and courageous. Someone who sacrifices everything and anything for the well being of the ones she loves most.
That's why my mother is my hero. Although not all people are fortunate enough to have a mom who carries all of these traits, my "mami" has all these and more. She is the most amazing person that I have ever met. She is a single yet successful mother of 5, who has proven many times that she would risk the world and more for her children. My mother has been through just about everything in her life time and the good thing about her is that she uses everything as a learning experience and has passed that on to her children, preparing them for success in the future.
I have a lot of respect for all mothers in general. They have earned my respect by having the dedication and courage to bring their kids into this world and preparing them with their best knowledge for the cruel world they will have to face sometime in their lives. They work hard to give us a place to live, food to eat, and the education we will need throughout our lifetime.
My mom in particular is very forgiving. I have done a lot of things to make her upset and sometimes even cry. It makes me happy to know that no matter what happens my mother will ALWAYS love me and it makes me even happier that I will always have someone I can call a bestfriend, an unconditional bestfriend who actually loves me. My mother knows and accepts the fact that she raised me the best she could and taught me things to the best of her knowledge. I, however, do realize that now it is up to me to live up to my mom's expectations, make her proud, and make sure she has nothing to regret when it comes to me. I also want to make sure that the next time I make her cry, she is crying tears of joy.
My mom has proved to me that she loves me unconditionally and for that I thank her. I love you mom and my love is unconditional just like yours. Everything I am I owe to you and I WILL make you proud.
