Hero. What is hero? Must it always be `real human`? How about if sometimes my heroes are staying in another world? Can I call them my heroes? Honestly, I don’t really care if they are real or not, I just look forward that we can call everything in everywhere as our hero as long as we like to.
Here, this is Ann (born Summer 17), one of my heroes. She is one of playgirls in Mineral Town. Here I will tell you about Ann based on the combination of Harvest Moon FOMT & IBM series, I still don’t have enough the details of Ann based on new Harvest Moon series (HM64).
Ann lived in Mineral Town (the name of town in HM), next to Aja Winery. She was a motherless child who stayed with her father, Dough. Ann isn`t extravagant feminine type. In fact, she never wore feminine clothes nor make-up. But, she doesn`t act masculine either. As her daily menu, she loved to clean her home and then take a long and hot bath.
Like her dad, Ann could cook well, but not as good as her dad. Maybe someday she could be a famous chef as a next-Dough. She ran a big-famous Inn with her dad. People used to spend their time there, especially at night, mostly with both hard-workers and unemployed people who came there to drink. The foods were fabulous, but expensive. Everytime I went there just for begged a glass of water which was free. Ann’s Inn was the one which had telephone, so, most of people went there to phone their relations in far places.
What is the most `why` I did choose Ann as my hero? Yep, that’s because I’m proud of her, she was a tough one. She lived a tough life with her dad. I don’t know exactly when and why did her mom pass away. I just read from a book that her mom died when Ann was still chubby-baby. Poor Ann... She hadn’t even known how very beautiful her mother was (I myself hadn’t seen her mom). The accident occurred in the 5th day of Winter, but Dough always memorialized the death of his wife every 5th in Fall on the top of Mother`s Hill. Despite her mother was dead, she could move on and live a happy family. Unlike her daughter, Dough couldn`t heal his wound because of the loss of his dearest one.
If I was Ann, I couldn’t be so strong enough if I lived without mother who left me earlier though. Especially if I stayed with dad with his bad ability at cooking! Too bad… Ann is a strong and smart girl even without support from her mom, or maybe she’d never felt how it feels. Luckily, she got a kind dad who could cook well so that Ann would eat many kind of foods. They both were often won every cooking festival in Mineral Town, that’s why they both were famous and their Inn could be popular.
I was playing as a farmer in the game. I was Ann’s friend. She always seemed to be in Hot Spring (the name of a place in Mineral Town) every morning except rainy days. First time I saw her in that place, I didn’t believe she was a motherless child. You know why? Because Ann always looked cheery, her face never showed her sadness of the death of her mom. She acted liked she never lost someone she loved like her mom.
Like the other girls, Ann also had someone special in her hearth. In the end of the game, if I wouldn’t marry her, she would marry with Cliff. Cliff was falling in love already with Ann when Ann invited church and caught Cliffe was bursting into sadness. Pastor introduced Ann to Cliffe, and Ann became close to him to know what was happening with him. She tried to handle his problem. At last, Cliffe talked about his problem. Talking with Ann, he felt comforted and at last had a feeling with Ann. Maybe that`s why he always spent his night in Ann`s Inn.
There are some differences I found about Ann’s family between HM64 and HM FOMT. In HM64, it said that Ann is Gray’s sister. It also said that Rick is their cousin. Obviously, Jeff is their dad (in PSX & 64) and it is unknown who Rick’s parents are, but it doesn’t matter. Someone told me that Ann said something about her grandma being an inventor. But I still don’t know the truth, I just got it from discussion forum in internet. Bye-bye… I hope I can search many more hidden-information than before.
