Billie Joe Armstrong

My vision of a hero is somebody who has the "looks", the voice, and the heart. That is why I picked Billie Joe Armstrong. He is from the band "Green Day". They have released 7 albums since they started their singing career on the day before Billie's eighteenth birthday. That would be on Febuary 16th, 1990. That is when they had their first concert.

Billie started his singing career at the age of 5. He used to go to the hospitals and sing to the sick patients for them to feel better. By the age of 11, he got his first electric guitar. He named it "Blue." To this day he uses that guitar or exact replicas of it. He also wrote his first song "Why do you want him" at the age of 14. The song referred to his mom and his step dad. He met his guitarist at the age of 10 in the school cafeteria named Mike. He also met the drummer there, named John. John went to college so Billie and Mike were left with the task of finding a new drummer. They found Tre-Cool to join their band. That was when the band was renamed "Green Day."

Billie writes lyrics for his music. Most of their songs are written by him. He is very succesful in my eyes and in many other's eyes too. Billie was born on Febuary 17,1972. He recorded his first record "Look for Love" at a local recording company named Fiat Records. His dad died of cancer when Billie was very young. He dropped out of high school in order to pursue his music goals.

Billie met his future wife in 1990, in Minneapolis. He dated her for a while and then got married, soon after which he realised she was pregnant. Their son, Joseph Marcicano Armstrong, was born in March of 1995. Three years later on September 12, 1998, another boy, Jakob Danger was added to the Armstrong family. Today, Billie, Adrienne, Joseph, and Jakob reside in Oakland, California.

I find Billie my hero as he is someone who has pursued his goals and been successful in his life. He has been hardworking and motivated and made it big in the music industry. He is a very talented guy and his songs really make sense to me. I admire his work.
