For my hero I have chosen Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer and guitarist for one of the greatest bands of all time, Green Day. Billie Joe was born the youngest of six kids on February 17, 1972.

The reason I chose Billie Joe for my hero is because he is not only an amazing lyricist and guitar player but he's also in one of my most favorite bands, Green Day. As a young boy Billie Joe would sing at hospitals to cheer up patients. He recorded his first song, "Look For Love." At age 11 Billie Joe got his very first guitar. At age 14 he became co-founder and partial owner of Adeline Records, an independent record company. Billie Joe has received multiple awards for his music, and continues to write amazing records.

Billie Joe has influenced me in many ways. It was because of Green Day that I started playing guitar, and wanted to start a band. Also Billie Joe's lyrics and songs have helped me in times of need, I was very excited to do this assignment and share why my hero is important to me.
