For my hero project, I did research on Bill Gates by using my source of “Biography Today”. I chose Bill Gates because he has contributed much to our society among other things. In the paragraphs below, I will describe Bill Gates, his life, Contributions, and other events in his career.

Bill Gates was born on October 28th, 1955 in Seattle, Washington. Growing up Bill Gates was in an upper middle class family. Throughout his life he was raised in Seattle until he went to Harvard University. I will get into that more in the next paragraph. Currently, Bill Gates lives with his wife and children. His wife’s name is Melinda, she was a former Microsoft executive. His two children, Jennifer who was born in 1996, and Rory, who was born in 1999, live with him and his wife.

An education is a good base to start a career, this is shown in the careers of most successful men and woman. Bill Gates had a great education thus that helped him create computer software and have the programs be able to make a profit. Since he grew up in Seattle, Bill Gates attended the Seattle schools in his area. Eventually, Bill Gates attended Harvard University after he graduated from high-school. At Harvard University Bill Gates met his business partner Paul Allen, eventually they both dropped out and created computer software soon after.

Bill Gates is well known for being one of the richest men in the world, and creating Microsoft, but he has also has given a lot to charities. Bill Gates and Paul Allen created Microsoft together, and it soon became one of the most successful software of all time. Bill Gates also has an interest in philanthropy. In 1997, he and his wife created the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, in which he endowed twenty two-billion dollars. This foundation gives to libraries, schools, and global public health among other things.

Many people are important to are society, but arguably, Bill Gates is one of the most important. Reasons for that are self explanatory. Bill Gates created Microsoft, an early computer software. He has also given to charities, and has his own, as I stated in the above paragraphs. Bill Gates, genius, businessman, my hero.
