"Patience is the key element to success" said Bill Gates as he brought up Microsoft. Bill Gates is the creator of Microsoft and The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. He is very heroic because he is compassionate and has perseverance. Bill Gates has helped millions all around the world.

Bill Gates first started making software when IBM had called and asked him to make them an operating system. From then on, him and Paul Allen started working on softwares. They realized after they sold software to IBM that they could make a business out of it, and soon after that Microsoft was born. In addition to creating Microsoft, Bill also started a charitable foundation called the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This foundation was started because Gates realized that there were millions and millions of people in this world with no food, water, shelter, and proper healthcare. Ever since the foundation had started, he has donated $28 billion to people in need.

            Bill Gates is a hero to many because he shows perseverance and compassion towards the work that he does. Bill Gates started Microsoft because he wanted to make a unique software that was proficient. He started to make the software mainly because of IBM's need for it . Bill Gates showed perseverance through Microsoft by working hard at all times and never giving up. For example, the text reads, "Even though Bill Gates was rejected numerous times and even when he had trouble he "plowed" through" (Bill Gates Biography). This paraphrase reveals that Gate's perseverance showed when he was in tough situations like when he didn't get the offer or didn't successfully sell a product. Not only did Gates show perseverance, he is also compassionate. He is compassionate because he and his wife created the Gates Foundation which helps millions of people a year. He started the foundation because he noticed many people around the world were suffering from diseases, starvation, and were homeless. For example, Biography.com states,"Gates put money where his mouth is. He and his wife Melinda have so far given away $28 billion via their charitable foundation." The evidence reveals that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation donated $28 billion to charity. It shows how much Bill and Melinda Gates care about people's lives that they would donate this enormous amount of money to make others happy. Bill Gate's character traits helped him become   a successful person.

Bill Gates has been a huge impact to this world, many people worldwide use Windows, a Microsoft software for computers. Plus many people use Excel, PowerPoint, and  Word because they are helpful and effective. Another impact was his foundation. It has helped so many people be able to have the necessities (food, water, shelter, and proper health care) that we take for granted. Even though Bill Gates is a Billionaire, he still has a heart for the people who don't.


In conclusion, Bill Gates is a heroic man because he is persevering and compassionate. He has made a huge impact in this world, changing lives of many people. He has made his own company and has helped millions through his charitable foundation. Bill Gates is a hero.
