"In 2006, Gates announced that he
would begin working full-time for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a
global philanthropic organization focused on improving healthcare and reducing
poverty." (Roger R. Flynn). Gates no longer needs to invent more technology
with all the money in his pocket already. Instead, he devotes all of his time
to being a caring philanthropist, donating millions of dollars to aid those in
need. Today's popular belief thinks of Bill Gates as the wealthiest man on the
globe. The rest of Gates' life vaguely seems to be hidden to most of society,
though is clearly explained. Gates' life was framed around building and serving
software to computers since junior high school. He dropped out of Harvard after
deciding not to be a lawyer, his father's desire, to begin his own company,
which sells and manufactures computers - Microsoft. He moved on to establish ground
in Washington, then gave up his head position to run the Bill & Melinda
Gates Foundation, which generously donates millions of dollars to reduce
poverty and disease. Gates went on to become a helpful and caring person,
wanting everyone to experience the joy of technology. Though many people would
think Bill Gates as just a wealthy person, he has proved much more of a hero
through his intelligence in technology, which sparked since a child, his
selfless and caring character, and his fascinating acts of philanthropy, which
have changed the lives of millions across the globe.

Bill Gates with Paul Allen (https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&so ()) |
From
Childhood to the present, Bill Gates has demonstrated his brilliance worldwide
through complicated works of technology and software programming. Gates
revealed an interesting fact about his life-long project: "One little mistake
would have meant the whole program wouldn't have run. The first time we tried it
was at MITS, and it came home without a glitch." (Neil Schlager). Gates'
perfection through his work not only demonstrates his brilliance, but also
reflects off of his ability to focus and his very intricate eyesight. Though in
his speech, he appears as very relaxed, which portrays his absence of struggle
and stress. Also since one little mistake could have ultimately exile the whole
project, Gates knew exactly which steps to take, which again reflects on how
much of a genius he is. Gates has further emphasized his brainpower by
revealing his talent during childhood:
"Bill Gates discovered the fascination of computers as a twelve-year-old
at the private Lakeside School in Seattle, Washington. Four years later, Gates
and schoolmate Paul Allen wrote software to measure Seattle's traffic flow, and
incorporated their first company, Traf-O-Data." (Roger R. Flynn). Since a
child, Gates has found computers fascinating. He immediately latched onto
computer studies, which made him the genius he is today. Though old and rusty technology
meant a different childhood in Gates' generation, he possessed flexibility with
what he was interested in, and quickly chose to take in computers. Since
holding on to his chosen hobby, he was able to keep on track with his research
and was able to manipulate a company based on his intelligent works. Gates'
childhood had lots of flexibility with his interests as he challenged his mind
and not only became the wealthiest person today, but a worldwide known genius.
Gates was not able to greatly succeed without being determined every minute of his work. As a child, he became obsessed with computers enough to surpass his curfew: "Sometimes Bill sneaked out of his room at night to go work on the computer." (Jeanne Lesinski 18). Unlike Gates' generation, we would spend our nights on more practical activities like video games in our generation, but Gates chose to work on creating a product for others. Sneaking out of his house at night shows an impressive obsession to a socially acceptable hobby. Also, since he utilizes that time for the production of his computers, he impresses all of his peers around him, (students and teachers) and they will understand what kind of person Gates will be in the future. Gates later dropping out of Harvard was a major decision in his life. Though having determination, he senses success in the future: "Gates went to Harvard and Allen accepted a job in Boston. There the two wrote and marketed BASIC for the Altair, the first home computer kit. When Gates dropped out of Harvard to found and run Microsoft, first in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and then in Seattle, he was on his way to becoming one of the world's richest private citizens." (Roger R. Flynn). In Gate's standpoint, dropping out of Harvard was not a dramatic mistake. We can obviously see today he his blooming fruitfully. His only reason for doing so was to free up time to resume to his research on computers and start a computer based company. At Harvard, he attempted to fulfill his dream of being a lawyer, his father's desire. Though acting as a distraction, Gates passed the opportunity, but that would soon serve as a benefit for him. People's definition of determination widely varies. In Gates' case, he wanted no distractions, or any other interfering activities, which meant leaving Harvard. Due to that determination he prosperously became to be what he is today.

Gates is indubitably wealthy, but does not
display as a stubborn king. He generously donates large amounts of his salary
to those in need, since there is no absolute need for such a plentiful supply
of money. After realizing he became successful in transforming technology,
Gates used his work of art as an advantage to connect with worldwide problems: "In
2006, Gates announced that he would begin working full-time for the Bill and
Melinda Gates Foundation, a global philanthropic organization focused on
improving healthcare and reducing poverty." (Roger R. Flynn). He gave up his
head position at Microsoft to someone else to be able to run a program that
further helps the needy. He believes that the people at Microsoft will make
things better for the future, so he trusted them as he left the head chair.
Now, he will devote his time to spending millions of dollars for others. By
improving healthcare and poverty, many disabled people will get a chance to
live a normal life, which is what Gates wants for the future. Gates truly cares
about the younger people in this generation and contently funds local libraries
for an opportunity to use better technology: "In the United States, Gates
focuses his charity work on education and has helped students from all walks of
life receive vital training for the future. Many public libraries in the United
States, for example, receive funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates
Foundation for computer upgrades and access to new information technology."
(Jeanne Lesinski 5). Gates obviously has enough money and would donate it to
people in need, but since most of the charities have all they could ask for, he
transitions and helps the next group in line, the local libraries. Gates wants
children his own age to have a better experience with technology, so when time
comes those kids will turn into adults who will hold a chance of becoming a
technological genius. Like an outstanding icon like Gates, people should be
more like him and donate a part of their life to make others' better.
