Bethany Hamilton

One month after the attack, Bethany was back in the water competing and surfing. At the open women's surfing division Bethany took 5th place. One year after the attack Bethany won 1st place in the Explorer women's division.

Bethany Hamilton is brave because she never gave up in the shark attack. She is also a hard worker because she tried to get back in the ocean. She also has a lot of strength because she won most of the surf contests with only one arm!

Bethany Hamilton accomplished getting back in the ocean with only one arm. She said to never give up your dream and to keep your dream alive. She discovered that you can do whatever you want if you set your mind to it.

As you can see, Bethany Hamilton is not just a hero to me but also to a lot of other people too. She is a hero because she said to never give up your dream. So many people look up to her. She is also a hero to herself because she knows she did something incredible. I loved learning about Bethany Hamilton!
