I think this person is the best example of a hero because he was a person who helped to a lot of people to be free. Benito Juarez was the first Mexican leader who did not have a military background. Juarez is often regarded as one of Mexico's greatest and most beloved leaders. A lot of places like schools, parks, streets have been named to honor and remember him. Benito Juárez was born in the small Zapotec Indian village of San Pablo Guelatao, Oaxaca, on March 21, 1806. His parents, poor peasants, died when he was 3 years old. Juárez then lived with his grandparents and later with an uncle. He was in power for 14 years. Juarez lived during a cataclysmic time in Mexican history.
The qualities that he had was: quiet, courageous, smart, humble and respect for all people. Those qualities helped Benito Juarez to be president for a long time, he is remembered as an important reformer. The period of his presidency was known in Mexican history as “la reforma” (the reform). Benito Juarez was a liberal Mexican and in March 21 is a day set to commemorate Juarez. This date has become a national holiday in Mexico.
He was a special person who thought that the respect for every person was very important, for this reason he said: Entre los individuos, como entre las naciones, el respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz," meaning "Among individuals, as among nations, respect for the rights of others is peace." It is inscribed on the coat of arms of Oaxaca.
I chose this hero because is a excellent example for the people in all the world. Also Benito is a person that I admire because he came from the very bottom and made it to the top. Benito Juarez inspired others to do good things. He is often referred to as “The Abraham Lincoln of Mexico.” Juárez led his country through some difficult times, including two major wars.
