Blake Mycoskie is the founder of TOMS Shoes. Blake is a renaissance man because he is working on changing the world with donating shoes to children that need them.

He was born in August 26, 1976 in Arlington, Texas. When he was in college he formed a laundry service on campus. After that he had four other businesses before TOMs. With his sister, he was on the Amazing Race and got second place.(TOMS)

In May of 2006 Blake went on a trip the Argentina for a vacation. While he was there he made friends with local children. Soon he realized they all needed shoes. When he got back to his apartment in Venice, California he started to make shoes. The first shoes he made was TOMS originals.(Num&Nelson) With no degree in fashion and no experience in design. He was still able to create a iconic shoe company.(Start Something) Every time a pair of of shoes is sold he gives a pair away to someone that needs them. "Giving is what fuels us. Giving is our future. It's the core of our business and it's time we celebrate it" -Blake Mycoskie. (Giving Report)

Blake believes that everyone deserves an education because "Healthy educated children have a better chance of improving the future of their entire community." Blake has started a company that gives back.(Giving Report) TOMS doesn't just give shoes they also give eyewear to help give vision. TOMS sell accessories and apparel it they give shoes instead. TOMS motto is "One for One." Most shoe stores only sell shoes, but TOMS is different because they give shoes away to a child that needs them.(TOMS)

Now in over forty countries Blake has helped give shoes and vision. In other countries most of the diseases spread through walking long distances, families livening on less than a dollar a day, and living on dangerous terrain. He believes that with shoes, children an have better health, a better education, and then leads to opportunities.(Giving Report) Because of Blake many businesses are now giving with every sale. Every 'GivingTrip' that TOMS holds Blake goes and hand delivers the shoes. (Num&Nelson) TOMS give in over forty countries. The shoes are manufactured in three different countries. As of October 2011 two million pairs of shoes had been given. The shoes are given in five different continents. TOMS works to establish shoe giving partnerships with humanitarian organizations worldwide. They all have a longtime presence in the countries and communities they help in.(Giving Report) Once a pair is purchased it will take several months to have them shipped and then placed on children's feet. When TOMS start giving to a village, they don't just give once and leave. They follow up and give shoes so the children always have shoes that fit.(TOMS) Blake Mycoskie is determined to change the world... One shoe at a time.
