Betty White, so many words I have to say about this lady, but I just don't know where to start. The first thing I have to say is she is an amazing woman and a hero to many including myself. Betty White has done so much for the people. She has always given back whether it's to animals, her viewers, or just to people in need.

Betty Marion White was born on January 17, 1922 in Oak Park, Illinois and was the only child to Horace and Tess White. When she was two, she and her parents moved to Los Angeles. There she attended Beverly Hills High School and graduated in 1939. She moved on to marry her first husband, Dick Barker, on July 9, 1945. This marriage only lasted till December. Then in 1947 she married her second husband, Lane Allen, on November 8th. They divorced two years later in 1949. Allen Ludden, her third husband and also her co-host, got married on June 14, 1963. He became her long-time man of 18 years and they were in love until his death in 1981, when he died of stomach cancer. She never had children, but had three stepchildren. She is now 89 and still going strong. (A&E Television)

Her career also aids in her becoming my hero. She became a model in the 1940s and had a successful run. She moved on to become one of the first women producers, and also the First Lady of Television. She has been on many TV series such as "Golden Girls", "Hot in Cleveland", and "Life as Elizabeth". She is "America's Sweetheart." Continuing to work on television she became a star that everyone loved. She has been nominated for 17 Emmys and won 5 of them.

She also has an outstanding position in campaigning for the Morris Animal Foundation. She has a 5 year old dog, Pontiac, that is a guide dog. She loves animals and does so much for them. This is why she is my hero. Betty also tries and helps out other animal foundations and charities as well as being a animal rights activist.

She has been my hero since the first time I saw her on "Golden Girls". When I was younger I dreamed about the kind of person I would grow up to be, and yes you guessed it, Betty White is the person I had always dreamed I would become. She has so much going for her in the world. And as long as she keeps working and doing good she will never be forgotten or at least in my heart she won't.
