Bhagat Singh died for helping his country; he was a freedom fighter. He did many things to cause the British to question their rule of India. Bhagat joined a freedom fighting organization. After Bhagat Singh died, India felt that it had lost a very special human being. Nevertheless, the British did not stop ruling India until later.
During Bhagat Singh’s lifetime, including his childhood, he tried to free India! Bhagat was raised by a freedom fighting family. He joined the Hindustan Socialist Republic Association. Dying with pride is no small thing, but Bhagat didn’t care if he died or not, he just wanted India to be free. When Bhagat assaulted and “fought” with the British, he got beaten VERY badly. They whipped him while he was laying on ice, and afterwards, the British put salt on the whip marks, to make the marks burn. India’s Mahatma Gandhi was admired by many, especially by Bhagat Singh.
Childhood and teenage years for Bhagat Singh were probably the most important years of his lifetime. Bhagat Singh was raised by a freedom fighting family. His mother was always scared that her husband, brother, or son would get beaten by the British for helping India. Singh was born in late 1907, in Khatkar Kalan, Punjab. Kishan Singh, father of Bhagat, was always very proud of his family, especially of Bhagat Singh. As Bhagat got older, many people wanted freedom for India. Sukhdev and Rajguru were Bhagat’s very good friends. They always stayed together to help India get its freedom. Rajguru, Sukhdev, and Bhagat died on March 23, 1931.
Bhagat Singh was a good fighter, a freedom fighter. Many times, Bhagat put his family at risk, but Bhagat never lost hope. I think that India probably would have gotten nowhere if it weren’t for Bhagat Singh. Bhagat used to depend on the Prime Minister, but when he switched sides, Bhagat took action immediately. While Bhagat Singh was in jail, he went on strike, by not eating food. Slowly, all the prisoners started to go on strike. They wanted to show the British that if India didn't get its freedom, that they wouldn't eat anything. Batukeshwar Dutt and Bhagat Singh had thrown bombs into an assembly. The bombs were not for injuring or killing anyone. Dutt and Singh wanted to show the British that if they didn’t give India freedom, they would take action. Bhagat Singh and his friends became martyrs, people who died proudly for their country.
Bhagat Singh made my life something I can respect. All my ancestors are from India. In my opinion, if it weren’t for him, India probably wouldn’t be free today. Now, everyone can live in India without being, or feeling, enslaved. If it weren't for him, I think that many people would still be enslaved by the British. Bhagat showed people how to care for and love their country, even how to die for it! I may not have been born in India, but I still care about it.
Bhagat Singh became a great martyr. Would you want to get beaten for helping people, or helping your country? Singh has shown everyone great heroism. Bhagat Singh can be honoured for what he has done!
