Cesar Chavez

by Ivan from Farmersville

MY Hero is Cesar Chavez. He is my hero because he fought for farm workers' rights. He was very determined even though it took some time. They spent many years trying to get the rights they deserved. He has helped thousands of farm workers.

At the age of eleven Cesar had already worked in the fields with his parents. They worked under horrible conditions and were underpaid. He had spent many years trying to get them the rights they deserved. He had many followers throughout the years. He did not use violence, instead they would protest and boycott the products.

Cesar was born in Yuma, Arizona in 1927 with his two brothers and two sisters in a family of eight. When he was eleven his family moved to California during the Great Depression looking for work. They constantly moved around the state looking for work. He died at San Luis, Arizona in 1993. Thousands of people from all over went to his funeral.

He is my hero because he fought for thousands of farm workers' rights. He was dedicated to helping people. He had a lot of courage to protest and to boycott their products. He was a great leader and had many followers. He encouraged many people to help his cause.

In conclusion these are the many reasons he has helped other people. He fought and helped many people during his lifetime.
