Christopher Reeve as Superman

A hero is someone recognized by a group of people, but it’s very difficult to identify one. A hero is someone that is active in constant fight for something positive. It’s someone that is capable to do something favorable for the society. It’s a person that has or is making something remarkable in his life. It’s a person that looks for the benefit of the community. That is why I chose Christopher Reeve, because he was a person that was in constant fight for his life, because he had body paralysis. In his fighting he helped other people, because he motivated them, he makes them realize that life has a value. So I will talk about him and the goals that he accomplished in his life.

Christopher Reeve was born in New York City on September 25, 1952. Christopher was an actor, he is best known as the first person to act as superman in a movie, and he was known as an excellent actor. The problem began when he had a horse accident and became paralyzed. He was in a competition and he fell from his horse and he hit his neck and he had several spinal injuries that make paralyzed him from his neck down. He knew he had to recover so he did a great effort to continue living. He had to take care of his family, he didn’t want to be treated as a sick person; that is why he founded a body paralysis foundation, where people that have that sickness come there and have some treatment.

Christopher Reeve is a hero because instead of waiting for his death, he did an effort to help other people. He wanted to be treated as an experiment, he had a deal that medical scientist could make some medicine tests with him. He said that he has to be useful for the human race. While he was paralyzed he continued in the acting and produced some movies. He published his autobiography and with that book he won the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album.

He is a hero, for all the effort he did in his recovery. He is a hero because he helped other people that had the same sickness. He is a hero because he inspired many people; he make them reflect that life is a great value we need to use. He is a hero because he wanted to help with medical research in some sicknesses. Now Christopher Reeve is dead, but he will be remembered as a hero.
