Connie Rivera

My cousin Connie Rivera is my hero. She is more like a sister to me because when I little, my mom, dad, and I lived with Connie, her mom, and her sister Kristie. Connie has always been a nice, calm, trusting person, who has a really good sense of humor. Connie was born on July 26,1980.

One of the reasons that Connie is my hero is because she had a baby boy one year after she graduated, and his name is Michael. Michael was born on June 17,1999. The other reason she is my hero is because she took almost full resposibility for Mikey. She didnt get married to the father, whose name is Michael too, like most women in her situation feel like they have to. She got a job at the mall and at a bank so she could pay for the baby's expenses. Michael's parents pay for some of the baby's expenses, but not a lot because Connie doesn't want to take their money. The father is a big part of Mikey's life and he spends every afternoon with him.

Connie is a really great mother even though when I was a baby, she didnt like to change my diapers or even my sister's. It really surprises me that she is so responsible and hardworking, but she is a real inspiration to me and my little sister.
