Naîve Painter Chaibia Talal

My woman hero is Chaibia TALAL. She was born in 1929 in Hachtouka, a very small village close to Moulay Bouchaib city near Azemour, Morocco along the Atlantic coast. She is a famous painter in Morocco and created many paintings and drawing.

I consider her my hero because her art is natural and naïve. Her favorite paintings are of women.I also see her as a self-made woman because she did not learn painting formally. She has never been to a school or institute of painting. Yet her exhibitions are appreciated in many countries.

My hero has received many awards, especially the Gold Medal of the French Academic Society for Education and Encouragement. - March 2003.
