Ali (g) |
Cassius Clay was one of the greatest boxers alive, which is why he is one of my heroes. In his first three years he won 19 out of 19 fights. He was nicknamed "The greatest" and with 56 wins in 61 fights he should be, to me it is amazing. With not only the body for boxing, he had the skill as well. He was big; standing at 6 feet 3 inches he had longer arms than most opponents and really fast hands for how big he was.
Cassius Clay was born January 17 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. Cassius Clay is a hero not because he was a big knockout threat but because of his natural talent and skill. Now he is retired and has houses all over the world, but he mainly lives in Kentucky. My hero made a difference in the world, by changing the face of boxing. He made boxing what it is today; he was cocky but had a right to be.
Cassius Clay changed his name to Muhammad Ali after joining The Nation of Islam. Muhammad was in his prime but then got interrupted when he got ordered to go serve in the war. He got arrested because he did not answer to his birth name; they would not call him Muhammad. His next fight he predicted when he would knock his opponent down and then did, which drew more people to the sport of boxing. His first title fight was vs. Sonny Liston. He "Shook the World" just as he promised.
Muhammad Ali inspires me because he was the best at what he did, which was talking and fighting. He inspired me to be a boxer and I try to follow his skill in the ring. Even though he was flashy I still follow his examples for standing up for what he believes in. He has one daughter that boxes and she is very good as well. Muhammad Ali now is 66 years old and still talks, only now he is talking about his daughter "Shaking the World."
He is a good man and was an excellent boxer. He gives some money to his old gym that he worked out at. He talks to young boxers around his community is Louisville. Those are all of the reasons Cassius Clay is my hero.
