Chris Cole

by Connor from Gilbert, Arizona

There are many different definitions of a hero, some think it’s a person who saves people and jumps around in tights. My definition is nothing near that, I see a hero as someone who changes the world in a good way and changes the way people think. They have to be innovative in what they do and stick with it. My hero is Chris Cole. He is a professional skateboarder who has changed my life personally.

Chris Cole was born on March 10, 1982 in Levittown, PA. He started skating at the age of 8; He started competing at the age of 11, and 7 years later in 1993. Later he turned pro in 2000. He is a regular stance street skater (that’s where you push with your right foot and have your left at the front of the board). It wasn't long before he started to pick up sponsors.

Chris is a very consistent rider and even though he hates competitions he still dominates them anyway. He says that his favorite trick is the Ollie and that he likes to go fast and jump over steep slopes, some say he is just as good in switch as he is in regular (maybe even better). In 2004, he won gold at the Tampa Pro Street contest and 4th in Best Trick. In 2006, he won Thrasher S.O.T.Y. (skater of the year).

Chris Cole is going to keep being innovative and changing people’s minds on how they skate. Skate videos are ways for skateboarders to get their names out and their update in the skateboarding world, With his new part in the video New Blood He has proven His skill and will always be remembered in the skateboarding world.
