Michel Colucci was nicknamed « Coluche », he was a humorist and a French actor.
He was born on October 28th in 1944 in Paris and he died on June 19th in 1986 in Opio. He took the nickname "Coluche" at the age of 26 years old, at the beginning of his career. Before 1976, he took up supporting roles at the cinema, he then will be at the top billing during the 80s, mainly for his comedies. In 1984, he received a Cesar Award for Best Actor for his dramatic role in Tchao Pantin. He became very popular and appreciated by the public, a few months before he died in a motorcycle accident, he founded in 1985 the association Les Restos du Coeur, it's a charity which helps the poorest.
It all started when Coluche was paying his tax which amounted to 3 million French francs , at the time, he exclaimed: "Do you realize, with all the money I give you , if all famous guys like me put it all together, we could solve the problem of poverty. "When his cook Anita told him that a meal was worth fifteen francs, the comedian calculated that with the money from his taxes, then he could provide 200,000 meals. Les Restos du Coeur consist of eleven national antennas, 119 associations and over 2,000 centers. 67,600 volunteers. The Slogan is: "we count on you."
He's a hero for me because he has helped thousands of people by creating Les Restos du Coeur since he made sure that there was food for the poor during several winters .without the charity, the poor would be dead. He was a brave man who was brave and ambitious. Thirty years after its creation, his association is still active, more than ever.
