Michael Patrick Dumbell-Smith is a great singer and actor. He was born on January 19, 1942, and married Gabrielle Lewis in 1965. They had two daughters, but divorced in 1975. Michael's nickname is MC. My favorite play that 'MC' starred in was The Phantom of the Opera, where he played the phantom or 'Erik' whose wish is only to be loved for his music, not his face. He also haunts 'The Opera Populaire' opera house in the play, which causes people to fear and not love him.
MC's first stage debut, in front of an audience, was in a school production of Benjamin Britten's, Let's Make an Opera. He played the role of Sammy, the Little Sweep, who was the leading character in the opera. He made his first film debut when he was 15 in the film, Soapbox Derby. This was a children's film in which he did his own stunts, such as diving into the River Thames to rescue a boy from drowning.
The reason I chose MC to be my hero is because he is very dedicated to his work. In fact, at one point he smoked and drank, but he gave up those habits for his job. He is also very kind and compassionate to others. For example, Michael performs in plays for children, entertainment, and charity. You will never see bad publicity about him. Michael Crawford is my hero because of the person he is.
