As I am a football fan and an amateur football player my hero can't be anyone else than a footballer. So, my hero is Didier Drogba - a professional footballer who has been twice named African Footballer of the Year.

Didier Drogba was born on March 11, 1978, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. He emigrated to France at an early age and there he became a star soccer player. In 2004 he moved to Chelsea club where he has been playing till 2012. In his debut season at Chelsea he helped the club win their first league title in 50 years, and a year later he won another Premier League title. In March 2012, he became the first African player to score 100 Premier League goals, and he also became the only player in history to score in four separate FA Cup finals the same year, when he scored in Chelsea's win over Liverpool in the 2012 final." Drogba's career with Chelsea ended when he scored the winning goal in a penalty shootout against Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League final. It was a moment that I will remember for my whole life; it was a moment that motivated me to continue to plat football. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Didier_Drogba)

Besides being a famous football player, Drogba has earned acclaim for his humanitarian efforts. He helped poor persons; he created schools for poor children not only in his country but around the world, too. Didier is an example for all us, because he spent his money correctly, he helped people; he even created some organizations for poor persons. He created the Didier Drogba Foundation in 2007, which, according to its website, "aims to provide financial and material support in both health and education to the African people." For his humanitarian actions, in 2010 Time magazine included Drogba in its list of the 100 most influential people in the world that demonstrated to us that he is really a hero.

Being an enormously popular figure in his home country, Drogba has tried to use his position for good purposes. "With the Ivory Coast ravaged by civil war in 2006, Drogba led the Elephants in prayers for peace after World Cup qualifying games and organized a team statement calling for an end to the war, efforts that were credited with helping to bring about a cease-fire." This example proves once again that he is a hero, a person who isn't indifferent for the future of his country. (http://www.biography.com/people/didier-drogba-507537)

Didier Drogba is not a soccer player, he is a legend. He teaches us how to become a good player, how to develop our talent and achieve our goals. He became a soccer player at an early age; he came from not a rich family, he himself created his career and life, without any help. He worked hard to achieve what he has now. So his example teaches us never to give up but continue to work and fight for our dreams if we want to become somebody in life.
