Danette Dubrul

My hero is Danette Dubrul. Danette Dubrul is a single mom as well as working a full time job running her business, called Homecare for the Elderly. Yet, she still finds a way to stay connected to the Lord and share his word.

Danette Dubrul grew up in New York State and in her twenties, she moved to Vermont. From a very young age, her mom did a lot of volunteering at her church, and so Danette says that she was brought up with volunteering. Although her mom impacted her a lot to be a volunteer, the one thing that really got her started was God. Since she is a Christian, she believes that she should preach what He has to say, to be kind, generous, considerate and so much more because God did the same for us. She feels very blessed to have God within her to give her guidance when she is talking his Word, and so when there are times where she doesn't know what to say, God can help her.

Danette also says that she has always had a passion to serve others. Danette finds it very rewarding. She has not only been someone who is constantly sharing the word of God to her family, but she also participates in multiple other activities the church offers as well with the elderly in her community. In the past she has provided daycare for the church while a service is going on, and she has run a program called divorce care for people that have recently gone through a divorce and are needing a little extra support.

Even though Danette works for the elderly, she regularly puts in many extra hours helping with whatever needs they have, but also praying with them, and going over scripture. She creates special friendships, and she says, "I think of them more as my friends rather than clients." With all of her clients, she makes it a priority to stay connected with them.

As you can see Danette Dubrul is a very extraordinary person, but she gives all the glory to God because without him she would feel lost. I think that the more I have got to know Danette, the more I realize that she is the kind of person I would like to be when I grow up. She is, and forever will be, my hero.
