Deborah Ellis is a writer who was born August 8, 1960 in Cochrane, Ontario, and she now works in Toronto, Ontario, as a mental health worker at a women's shelter. Then in 2006 she was named Order of Ontario. Her profession is writing. I would say her major accomplishment is that Ellis publisher sent her to Israel and the Gaza strip to research Three Wishes, And then next she will travel to Africa to research kids living in the AIDS-affected regions. The event in history is in 1997. She traveled to Afghanistan to interview women in refugee camps. From these interviews she wrote the four part series.
Deborah Ellis donates her books to organizations helping women and children in Afghanistan. She uses topics that 85% of the USA wouldn't even think about. Most of her stories that she writes are fiction, they are about children who could be real. Deborah's characteristics of being a hero. First, she helped people in Afghanistan by donating books and materials. Second, the women in a mental health center. Last, she traveled to Africa to help research kids living with AIDS as they know it ( AIDS- affected regions.) Deborah is still living and helping those in need. The evidence of heroism is that she helped the people in Afghanistan, and is now helping women in need of help at a mental health clinic.
