Donald Knaack, also known as "The Junkman," is an American percussionist. He doesn't play on regular instruments, he plays on random recycled materials such as buckets, cans, anything. He was inspired to play on random recycled materials by John Cage, a musician who was playing on used materials, so that's when he started composing music from supplies that are recycled. The two things that made Donald Knaack inspiring are making music with junk, and recycling, which makes a difference to the world and helping the environment. Those two things are very important to the world, music and recycling.

He started off as a trained percussionist and was a member of a variety of groups, such as the Louisville Orchestra and Buffalo Philharmonic. He rose to fame when a musician who played on recycled supplies, John Cage, inspired him to use recycled materials as his instruments and to make music. That's when he worked with him to create his first album called "Junk Music," music that is entirely played out of supplies that are recycled, and received a Grammy Award. Donald Knaack traveled around, performing at schools, festivals, and many other places around the world.

Donald Knaack doesn't always play music; he also helps the environment such as recycling. In Vermont, he arranged a group called "Help Our Planet" (HOP). This teaches people how to help out environment, such as recycling, and to work as a team to save our planet. He would put together recycled materials to bring people together and play music. Right now, he is working on a children's TV show called, "Junk Music with The Junkman." This show is going to teach about music and improving the environment.

Donald Knaack is an inspiring musician because he not only makes music out of junk, but he also helps the environment by recycling. This relates to my life because music means everything to me and it brings people together. It also could make a difference to the world because recycling is helping the environment. I have recycle bins in my garage to sort cans, bottles, and glass bottles, and I would go to a store to recycle them. When you're using recycled materials as percussion instruments, you're doing two things at once: improving the environment by recycling, and making music which brings people together.

In conclusion, Donald Knaack uses recycled supplies as his instruments. He was nicknamed as "Junkman" and was encouraged to create music with junk by John Cage. His work and talent has inspired many people to help our planet and work as a team. I can imagine that he makes recycling fun because he's make them useful by playing them as his percussion instruments, and helping the environment at the same time.
