Demetri Martin was born May 25th 1973 in the Maryland and currently living in United States, New York, New York. His Parents are Lillian a nutritionist and his Dad’s a Greek Orthodox Priest. Demetri is a Greek-American comedian and a host for Important Things with Demetri Martin. But he was not always going to be a comedian. He graduated Yale University and dropped out of Law School the Year before graduating.

He got his first break on 2001 when he appeared on Comedy Central in 2003 he won a Perrier award and from 2003 – 2004 Demetri wrote for Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Then in 2004 he had his own comedy central presents stand up act. Since 2005 he has been contributing on The Daily Show and also is a host for “Trend spotting.” In 2007 he recorded a DVD with the name These Are Jokes. His Role Model for comedy is Steven Wright. Demetri usually has an instrument with his act either a guitar, harmonica, piano, keyboard, glockenspiel, toy bells, and a tambourine usually more than 1 at once.

I chose Demetri Martin as a Champion because I think he is a great comedian and has a clear thought of what he wants to do in life. I have also chosen him because I can strongly relate to his comedy being that it’s about everyday life. One day I want to be able to be as successful as Demetri Martin and be as or almost as funny as he is.
