"TRALLALLALLA!!!" - Dav Pilkey

When you think of a hero, do you think of a person who has super powers and saves the day? That's not a hero. A real hero is someone who makes an impact on your life, teaches you to do the right thing, and makes you a better person. Heroes are people who are known for making the world a better place or just making peoples lives better and changing the way they act. Heroes also inspire you to do things like them. All these characteristics relate to Dav Pilkey.

Dav Pilkey is a famous writer and illustrator. Some of Dav Pilkeys popular books are Captain Underpants, Ook and Gluk: Kung-Fu Cavemen from the Future, and The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby. Dav Pilkey was born on March 4, 1966, and is still alive today at the age of 47. Dav was diagnosed with  ADHD and dyslexia when he was only in elementary school. That did not stop him from being a writer and illustrator. He continued making people happy by publishing more of his books.

Dav Pilkey was inspired to be a writer when he drew Captain Underpants and then realized he wanted to start writing. He submitted his first book World War Won in a national student writing competition and won in 1987.  After this event happened, he made even more books. He started making the Captain Underpants series and the Dog Breath series right after he won.

Dav Pilkey is a hero to me because after he made Captain Underpants and I read it, it made me realize I wanted to be a comic book writer. I would have never even thought about being a comic book writer if it wasn't for Dav Pilkey!
