Dani Shay

by Robin from Jasper

Who would think an average everyday girl, the kind of girl you would see at Wal-Mart, would be an uprising star? Who would think she'd be an inspiration to millions, including me? The girl next door could be the next online celebrity. "Expect the unexpected" is what she was told, and the unexpected happened. A girl born in Orlando, Florida, with the traits of being inspiring, determined, and caring, Dani Shay was nothing anyone expected.

Dani believes in never giving up. After leaving her Mormon upbringing, moving out at 17, and quitting her job at the age of 21, she was determined to make her dream a reality. "I am ready to share myself with the world; I'm finally ready to succeed. I'm not sure how I'll do it, but this year is going to be the year in which everything changes." At the age of 18, she produced her first record 'Free the EP!' After being eliminated in season six of America's Got Talent, she pushed herself harder to succeed, to show she was worth the effort.

Additionally, she has joined with her close friend, Justin Chase, to raise awareness, spread love, and inspire people everywhere to 'Be More Heroic.' Be More Heroic has recently launched Foster The People's "Pumped Up Kicks" in order to help raise awareness of bullying and self violence. "No matter what your age, race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation, you can make a difference. Together we can make this a better world by loving and accepting everyone for who they are."

Dani may not have a cape, she may not wear a mask, she may not run around in tights chasing after a villain, she may not even have a sidekick, but she has more power then any Superhero. It's like her purpose, her job, to be exactly who she is. Or else she'll stop having the answers. Naturally questions come from people.

"We can all be superheroes"- Dani Shay
